While they might not know where they're playing in 2016, the San Diego Chargers know who will be its head coach next season.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Chargers have decided to retain Mike McCoy for the 2016 season after meeting with him on Monday.
McCoy, 43, has a 22-26 record in three seasons as head coach of the Chargers. After consecutive 9-7 seasons that included a playoff win over Cincinnati in 2013, San Diego took a step back in 2015, finishing with a 4-12 record, good for last place in the AFC West. The Chargers did end the season on a positive note, with a Week 14 win over the Dolphins in what could be the Chargers' final game in San Diego. The Chargers followed up that win with an overtime loss in Oakland and a 27-20 loss to the Broncos in the regular season finale.
San Diego struggled on both sides of the ball in 2015. They finished with the 26th ranked scoring offense and the 21st ranked scoring defense in the NFL, rankings that McCoy's team will need to improve upon heading into his fourth season as the Chargers' coach.
