Flowers is still a Charger -

He's Back! Chargers, Flowers Reach Four-Year Deal

When Brandon Flowers surprisingly became available last June, the San Diego Chargers pounced quickly to sign the Pro Bowl cornerback to a one-year deal.
It proved to be a fruitful marriage, and one neither party was interested in severing.  That’s why 24 hours before the start of free agency, the Chargers locked up the star defender, re-signing him to a four-year deal.
Flowers led San Diego with three interceptions and 11 passes defensed while appearing in 14 games.  His impact went far beyond stats, indicated by his impressive performance in the Chargers’ emotional 34-33 win over the Ravens when he limited Baltimore’s leading receiver, Steve Smith Sr., to just one catch for two yards.  His diving tackle in bounds on the final play ended the game without giving the Ravens a chance for a game-winning field goal.
The 5-9, 187-pounder made it known last week that his preference all along was to remain with the Bolts.
“We’re in negotiations right now and hopefully we can get something done,” he told NFL Network on Thursday. “But free agency is right around the corner so we’ll just see how all of that plays out. Business is business but I would love to stay in San Diego…To me, it’s very enjoyable because if I sign back with San Diego, it’s a place that I loved from day one stepping in; nice place to live with a quarterback like Philip Rivers. If you have a quarterback in this league, you always have a chance.”
Flowers also explained in that interview why the cornerback position is such a vital position.
“Cornerback is just as valuable as a quarterback right now because it’s turning into 7-on-7,” he explained.  “Teams are not running the ball; even when they hand the ball off, they’re in a spread offense and they’re doing a little read to see if they’re going to hand the ball off. There is no I-formation, pound it. There are a couple of teams that do it but you need cornerbacks. You can never have too many. And if you have a number one, it’s like if you have a quarterback you always have a chance, if you have a number one cornerback that can play you always have a chance.”
Flowers spent his first six seasons in Kansas City and he was selected to the Pro Bowl in his final season (2013). A second-round draft pick (35th overall) by the Chiefs in 2008, Flowers played in 88 games and started 87. He racked up 421 tackles, 17 interceptions, three interception returns for touchdowns and 97 passes defensed. He also forced four fumbles, recovered five and was responsible for two quarterback sacks.
Flowers is the third move the Bolts have made during free agency, as the team previously brought back LT King Dunlap and signed WR/KR-PR Jacoby Jones.
